A dozen of cars abandoned in Pittsburg Airport heading to auction

Over 1,500 items of property abandoned by passengers in the airport of Pittsburg will go on sale soon, including – inexplicably enough – ten cars.

The list includes a 2002 BMW Е39 530i, a 2007 Chevy Impala, a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer, a 2009 GMC Acadia and a 2013 GMC Terrain, a 2009 Nissan Titan, a 1999 Nissan Maxima, a 2015 MINI Countryman Cooper S, a 2007 Pontiac G6, and a 2005 Toyota Sienna.

Eight out of ten cars lack ignition keys, suggesting that their owners had planned to return for them later. This makes testing them or even see their mileage impossible. The Chevrolet Impala and the MINI Countryman have the keys, but the latter doesn’t start.

The airport workers admitted they did not have a clue as to why the owners of the cars would just throw them away like that. No pricing details have been revealed so far.

In addition to the cars, the Pittsburg Airport will be selling other abandonware, including a thousand jewelry items and accessories, around 500 electronic gadgets and electric appliances, and – brace for it – an alligator’s head.
