Someone is selling a rare Chevrolet Monte Carlo Dale Earnhardt Jr. Edition in the United States. The special edition enjoyed a big production run of 2,883 units, but this example has only traveled 1,120 km (696 miles) over the past 18 years. It is now on sale for a surprisingly modest amount of $29,900.
The base car is a Monte Carlo SS. The special edition (see video) adds the number 8 to the c-pillar, modifies the way the body looks and introduces an embroidered leather trim in the cabin. It also rides on 17-inch wheels.
The trunk lid bears the signature of the American racer himself. Mr. Dale Earnhardt Jr. won the NASCAR championship in 1998 and 1999 and scored two victories at the Daytona 500.
Things stay stock under the hood, where a 3.8-liter supercharged V6 churns out 240 horsepower and 280 Nm (207 pound-feet) of torque.
