A Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS Dale Earnhardt Edition is up for grabs in the United States right now for an asking price of $33,900. Aside from its limited-edition status, it enjoys a pristine condition with 20 miles (32 km) on the odometer.
The Dale Earnhardt Edition came out in 2002 as an homage to Dale Earnhardt, a legendary NACAR racing driver who had passed away the year before. It was only different from the stock car in terms of design accents – a tricolor livery like Earnhardt’s own, his starting number (3) and the lettering ‘Intimidator’ (his nickname).
More special badges and plaques can be found in the cabin along with an imitated signature of the late driver. The leather upholstery follows the same color scheme as the exterior.
Power comes from a 3.8-liter V6 rated at 243 PS (240 hp / 178 kW) and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque. This was not the most powerful Monte Carlo SS version in that generation: the flagship utilized a 5.3-liter V8 and churned out 307 PS (303 hp / 226 kW). The drive is on the front wheels.
