Chevrolet introduces the Silverado EV

Chevrolet has taken the opportunity to showcase its all-electric Silverado pickup at the CES-2022. The vehicle has no relation to its ICE counterpart aside from the name and is ready for production.

In essence, it is a GMC Hummer EV clone based on the same Ultium platform with the crew cab configuration. The suspension is independent on both axles, and you can opt for air cushions and 4WS.

The entry spec is called WT and comes powered by dual electric motors driving both axles with 517 PS (510 hp / 380 kW) and 834 Nm (615 lb-ft) of torque total. The RST spec takes the middle ground with 673 PS (664 hp / 495 kW) and 1,057 Nm (780 lb-ft). Both have 644 km (400 miles) of range when fully charged. Later on, a range-topping configuration called Trail Boss will be added to the lineup.

All Silverado EV models come with a spacious frunk and an optional partition to extend the bed space at the expense of the cabin. When installed, it makes the bed 105 inches (2.7 meters) long.

All trim levels come with an 11-inch digital dash screen installed, while infotainment display size varies from trim to trim, maxing out at 17 inches. Options include a HUD, Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving suite, and a panoramic roof.

Prices start as low as $39,900 for the base spec.
