Australia-based Walkinshaw Performance has shared a short teaser video announcing certain mods for the Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The car itself is never shown, but the sound is a dead giveaway as to what to expect.
In all likelihood, the tuner is working on a supercharger upgrade for the pickup’s 6.2-liter V8 originally rated at 420 PS (414 hp / 310 kW) and 623 Nm (460 lb-ft) of torque. The whine is something you would specifically expect from a supercharger, rather than the more commonly used dual turbos.
No further details are provided, but we would expect figures in the general vicinity of 700 PS (690 hp / 515 kW) and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft).
Walkinshaw has quite a wide range of aftermarket goodies for the Silverado, including wheels 18-20 inches large, tires, brakes, a sports exhaust system, and a 50mm (2-inch) suspension lift kit. Come to think of it, a power upgrade is the only major item missing from the list.
