This sharktruck (or truckboat, name it however you want) might just make it into the list of the craziest homegrown rides we have ever seen.
Curt, the person single-handedly responsible for the build, says his store got a hold of an old 20-foot (7-meter) boat in a battered condition. At about the same time, someone persuaded him to buy a rundown Chevrolet 3500 truck made in the 1990s. You may figure out the rest yourself, but don’t be mistaken: merging a barely drivable pickup with a dysfunctional boat is way more challenging of a task than it may seem at a first glance.
Curt put the boat hull on a hydraulic lift that you have to raise to the top position in order to get inside. This also necessitated modifying the floor of the cab, raising the ride height and moving the pedals closer to the driver. The front axle has low suspension, but the visibility from the driver’s seat still leaves much to be desired. This is why the ride makes use of four external video cameras outputting their feeds onto a single dash display.
