72-year-old Chevy Suburban restomod rides like a modern sports car

A unique 1951 Chevrolet Suburban is up for grabs in the United States right now with nearly half a thousand horsepower under the hood and an asking price of U.S. $157,900.

Like most similar projects, this one relies on a simple and practical LS3 V8 crate engine by General Motors. With 6.2 liters of displacement at its disposal, it sends a cool 480 PS (473 hp / 353 kW) to the rear wheels through a six-speed A/T. The suspension is independent at both ends and originates from a fourth-gen Chevy Corvette. The steering column and the brakes have been upgraded to comply with the latest safety standards.

Both the body and the cabin appear to be in flawless condition. The interior fit-and-finish makes use of expensive leather and precious wood varieties sourced from both Americas. There is a radio on board along with a CD player and a climate control system, but no distracting touchscreens.

The seller is RK Motors if you are interested.
