Aside from excellent performance car builds, Hennessey Performance also regularly treats us to drag races that are actually interesting to watch – mostly owing to the fact that the contenders are so different. Today’s race is no exclusion, either: there is a sporty bone-stock Ford Mustang GT challenging a bulky, but well-massaged Chevrolet Tahoe RST.
In its factory implementation, the Chevrolet Tahoe RST can do 420 hp (313 kW) and needs about six seconds to reach 60 mph (100 km/h). However, this particular Tahoe makes use of an HPE650 power kit and has a whopping 650 hp (485 kW) at its disposal.
The Mustang GT comes to the start line unaltered – and for a good reason. The car comes equipped with a 460-hp (343-kW) strong engine and concludes the standard sprint in less than 4 seconds owing to its relatively low weight.
