Starting today, you may enter a Chevrolet dealership in the United States and ask for a Tahoe or Suburban SUV pre-tuned to deliver a whopping 1,000 hp (745 kW) along with 1,185 Nm (875 lbft) of torque.
The performance version is called High-Output Series Stage II and has been brought to you by Specialty Vehicle Engineering, a car tuner with 25 years of experience building custom General Motors vehicles.
The kit costs a hefty $67,000 and is only compatible with the 2019 Tahoe/Suburban 5.3L models. If you find that you don’t need a thousand horses to lug your heavy SUV around, opt instead for the cheaper Stage I package that brings “mere” 810 hp (604 kW) and 1,016 Nm (750 lbft) to the table.
Both cars receive numerous modifications and improvements during the upgrade, with the bulk of the power coming from a new supercharger.
Should you want it, Specialty Vehicle Engineering will throw in a custom set of wheels, a film wrap, lowering springs and a couple of interior options.
