A couple of years ago, a tuning shop by the name of Flat Out Autos designed a stylish modern Chevrolet K5 Blazer using a 2018 Chevy Tahoe Z71 and a truckload of custom parts. One of these is up for grabs at Barrett-Jackson right now.
The sheer scope of the work is astounding. The team essentially took a modern four-door SUV and turned it into a two-door crossover with retro looks. The new body paneling is almost exclusively made from stainless steel, although the tailgate stands out thanks to its lightweight CFP composition.
A piece was cut out from the chassis to make it shorter, and the rear side windows were enlarged to match the new aesthetic. The whole body received a blue paintjob with white accents, and 20-inch Cutis Speed wheels slotted into the arches.
The cabin lost the second seat row, which looks peculiar since the third row was allowed to remain. On the other side, it means the passengers now enjoy an unprecedented amount of legroom. Power still comes from the stock Tahoe V8 churning out 360 PS (355 hp / 265 kW) and 519 Nm (383 lb-ft) of torque. A six-speed automatic gearbox sends the torque to both axles.
