Trailblazer, Chevrolet’s latest compact crossover SUV that debuted at the latest Auto Shanghai show, will be available in North America, the company states. It will occupy a market niche between the Trax and the Equinox.
The U.S. version of the Trailblazer has little to show to tell it from its Chinese counterpart. Differences include a bulging radiator grille, grouped lights, plastic moldings throughout the body, and a less slanting roofline.
The cabin houses a traditional, non-digital dashboard and a new multimedia system. The upholstery is dark with red accents. Overall, the interior could be described as ‘minimalistic’.
All trim versions of the new Chevrolet Trailblazer will ship with the same assortment of basic safety features: automatic emergency brake, lane control, and pedestrian recognition.
The company says it will disclose the technical specs later. In the meantime, some media speculate that the SUV might ship with a gasoline four-cylinder engine in the standard version and a better powertrain in the alleged RS trim.
