YouTube vlogger Edwin Sarkisyan has devised a rather inspired way to see just how robust the Chrysler PT Cruiser is. He shot his grandma’s compact family car with a homemade mortar loaded with a bowling ball.
He drove far into a field to minimize the risks of injury and property damage. He also took care to film the action from multiple cameras in normal and slow motion.
The homemade mortar was put on a makeshift carriage right next to the elderly vehicle’s tailgate. The muzzle-to-car distance was only about 20 centimeters (8 inches). The shot proved so powerful the cannon rebounded a few meters. The PT Cruiser only bobbed slightly, despite the wrecked tailgate. The bowling ball survived the trial exceptionally well, though.
Not quite finished with his test yet, Sarkisyan felt like shooting the roof of the car with his mortar. This time around, the ball went right through the metal in a rather spectacular way.
