Citroen is leaving the automobile market of Australia after 101 years of continued presence in the region.
The company had struggled to stay afloat Down Under for the past five years, selling a dismal 200 cars or so every year. Despite all efforts, it had pretty much screeched to a halt by July 2024, selling 87 units across four models in January-June. Ironically enough, Ferrari outperformed it with 113 luxury vehicles sold over the same period.
Having apparently had enough of this humiliation, Citroen has now officially announced pulling out of Australia on November 1, 2024.
