Drag racing is a straight-line acceleration race usually attended by owners of high-performance cars, but these Sinclair C5, Citroën Ami and Mahindra e2o looked like they embarked on a quarter-mile holiday road trip together.
The tiny Mahindra e2o packs a 15.5-kWh traction battery and gets 42 PS (41 hp / 31 kW) out of its single electric motor. It cannot accelerate past 101 km/h (63 mph) and only has enough battery juice for 120 km (74 miles) of driving.
Being technically a quadricycle, the Ami is 8 PS (8 hp / 6 kW) strong, has a 5.5-kWh battery and offers 75 km (46 miles) of range.
Rounding off the roster is the Sinclair C5, a vehicle from the distant 1980s. It is the lightest of the trio by far, but crippled with a top speed of just 24 km/h (15 mph).
Watch the video and try not to picture any of the participants being overrun by a speeding glacier... if you can.
