Owning a car with vintage looks and modern amenities on board is a luxury these days, because the above implies you are looking for a restomod. However, those who cannot afford a restored classic may still opt for a simple styling kit – like this one from Caselani.
The Italian coachbuilder takes the standard Citroen Berlingo and turns it into a lookalike of the vintage van of the same brand called the 2CV Fourgonnette. Included in the styling is a new radiator grille adorned with an upscaled Citroen logo (not the new one revealed earlier today, but still). The list goes no to mention a corrugated hood cover, long front fenders with built-in round headlamps, and two-tier round taillights at the back. Complementing the look are side moldings used by the original Fourgonnette to increase its body rigidity. On the Berlingo, their function is purely decorative.
The good news is that the body kit fits both the LCV and MPV versions of the van. The interior and drivetrain stay stock, meaning you can outfit the electric Berlingo in the same manner.
Prices will be released and pre-orders will start on October 1, 2022. The first shipments are scheduled for January 2023.
