The French automotive brand Citroen has officially announced the forthcoming market release of a third-generation update for its Berlingo MPV. No premiere date was mentioned, however.
The new Citroen Berlingo uses the same old and proven EMP2 car platform and comes in two models, M and XL. As you may guess, the former comes with a reduced size, whereas the latter offers a third seat row, among other improvements such as a larger trunk compartment.
The exterior design of the Citroen Berlingo follows the same basic guidelines adopted by the brand a while ago. It has multiple moldings on its sides serving as protection. The interior offers numerous shelves and niches that passengers might find handy to use. A modern infotainment system is pre-installed to keep the driver and the passengers awake and in good mood. Rear seats can be folded all the way until there’s a smooth floor surface where they used to be. As usual, the car ships with numerous safety and assistance-oriented features.
The new 2018 Citroen Berlingo comes with a nice motor palette to pick your favorite from. There are two 1.2L gasoline-powered turbo engines with 110 and 130 hp and three 1.5L diesels rated at 75, 100, and 130 hp.
The updated Citroen Berlingo MPV is most likely to be introduced to the wide audience at the Geneva International Motor Show in Switzerland on March 8 – 18, 2018. It’s going to be released in Europe late summer. A commercial car version is also going to be made available later.
