Citroen may have ditched plans for its tiniest C1 model before production, but fans of the French marque will still have an entry-level model to drive: the C21.
At least, this is what the test vehicle spied a few hours ago appear to be called. It looks like it will primarily target the market of India, where high-riding, affordable compacts are popular.
The car obviously makes use of PSA Group’s unitized platform known as the CMP. What propels it forward remains unknown, but we expect an assortment of low-end naturally aspirated and turbocharged IC engines coupled with manual and automatic transmissions.
No interior shots have been made so far, but it would make little sense to expect anything beyond the bare basics. The C21 – if this is what it is called – will most likely compete against the likes of the Hyundai Venue and the Ford EcoSport, so cost cuts across the board are expected.
