New Citroen C1 revealed alongside two special versions

Citroen has unveiled the next-generation update of its C1 urban car. The vehicle now complies with the strictest European environmental standards and comes with a couple of special editions for those who aren’t completely satisfied with what the base model has to offer.

Frankly speaking, the new Citroen C1 has hardly changed on the outside. Nonetheless, buyers may now choose across a wider color palette and interior trim options. The car comes with better noise proofing and a modern infotainment system that supports most of the popular apps and services.

The engine compartment of the updated Citroen C1 holds a reworked 1.0-liter, Euro 6.2-compliant V3 engine. In terms of performance, it offers a controversial boost to 72 hp / 53.6 kW (up from 69 hp / 51.4 kW of the predecessor model) at the expense of some torque (now 93 Nm / 68.5 lb·ft, previously 95 Nm / 70 lb·ft). Decide for yourself which one like better.

There are two special editions, Urban Ride and Elle. The former radiates an aura of manliness and costs €14,450 and above. The latter is named after a famous women’s magazine and obviously panders to the tastes of the female audience. It comes with a €14,950 entry-level price tag.
