Citroen will be premiering a fully electric version of its C3 high-riding hatchback in India next month, Automotive News Europe reports quoting the CEO of the company. It is unknown whether the model will be released in Europe as well, where it would line up nicely against the Dacia Spring.
The original Citroen C3 (featured in the gallery here) looks rather different in its affordable version for the developing markets. It utilizes a trimmed-down variant of the CMP platform, which still supports both ICE and electric powertrains.
According to the CEO, the upcoming Citroen eC3 will be targeting corporate clients first and foremost. Reports are coming in that it will utilize a modest 30-kWh traction battery. Then again, the Dacia Spring for Europe makes do with a 26.8-kWh battery pack that gives it a decent 234 km (145 miles) of range.
