French car manufacturer Citroen has come forth with the restyled C4 Cactus compact crossover SUV series meant to be sold in Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina and other Latin American countries.
Citroen will assemble the new model at its facilities in Brazil. First cars should roll into dealerships before the end of the year.
The manufacturer refused to provide any technical details on the update, but automotive experts expect the new car to ship with a choice between two 1.6-liter engines, a THP unit with 173 hp (129 kW) and a FlexStart one with 118 hp (88 kW). All vehicles will be strictly front-driven.
The original Citroen C4 Cactus debuted in 2014. After some improvement, the compact crossover SUV arrived on the market in Europe three years later only to be treated as a hatchback by picky local customers. Interestingly, the European edition of the Citroen C4 Cactus came equipped with new suspension that made use of hydraulic parts, but we likely won’t be seeing anything like this in the upcoming Latin American version.
