Citroen brings C5 Aircross to Europe

The new Citroen C5 Aircross SUV had initially debuted at the 2017 Shanghai Motor Show as a China-only vehicle. Nevertheless, the manufacturer later decided to release it in Europe as well. The premiere will take place in France on May 24, with the car itself going on sale in October.

In terms of outer appearance and dimensions, the new Citroen C5 Aircross is going to be completely or almost equal to its Chinese sibling, but the engine palette is going to be thoroughly revised. Some say it might get several gasoline engines rated between 167 – 204 hp (125 – 152 kW) and a few of their diesel counterparts capable of between 100 – 180 hp (75 – 134 kW). All of these will work fine with six-speed automatic transmission.

The Citroen C5 Aircross is front-driven and ships with hydraulic-jounce-bumper suspension, a digital dashboard, an infotainment system with a sensor display and an assortment of driver aids.

The vehicle will be assembled in Rennes, France, where the company also produces its Peugeot 5008. Trim levels and prices will be disclosed separately.
