Citroen C5 Aircross goes through a planned upgrade

The Citroen C5 Aircross has been available in Europe for a few years now, so the time was ripe for a mid-life refresh. Let us see what the 2022MY facelift brings to the mid-size crossover SUV.

One of the main features comes in the guise of a new design language, which apparently involves numerous dark accents throughout the exterior. The headlights are now shaped like two slim stripes, the radiator grille is different in both size and shape and has a backlight, and the taillights sport new light patterns. There is a new body finish option called Eclipse Blue and 18-inch Pulsar wheels.

Things have changed inside, too. A 10-inch infotainment display towers above the front panel, and while the dashboard remains digital, it now enjoys upgraded graphics. The seats and trim materials are new, there is an additional USB port, and the old gear lever makes room for center console switches and buttons.

Engines remain to be announced. The current C5 Aircross comes with a hybrid powertrain rated at 225 PS (222 hp / 165 kW) and two internal combustion engines capable of 130 PS (128 hp / 96 kW) each – a petrol one and a diesel one.

Sales will start closer towards the summer.
