Tire tycoon Continental has come up with a concept of a smart home that you can take on an adventure with you – the ContiHome.
The trailer is 32 square meters (344 square feet) large and serves as a showcase of the company’s capabilities in interior design, fit and finish, and use of eco-friendly materials. It is not going to hit production anytime soon, though.
Continental boasts that there is a ‘smart control system’ used throughout the motorhome, but remains tight-lipped about the details. Funnily enough, the only smart features actually shown are a touchscreen at the entrance and a mobile app used to adjust lighting and audio volume. The ContiHome comes equipped with a quality audio system and a number of multimedia displays.
The trim formula uses some materials researched by Continental itself, including reprocessed ones. The façade, cabin walls, furniture and floor are said to reflect the marque’s skill set in tactile design, aesthetics and comfort. For instance, the sleeping area is trimmed with imitation leather bearing a special print. The exterior combines natural wood parts with matte black panels.
The living space is divided into sections and furnished with multi-purpose furniture. For example, you can fold the U-shaped sofa in the living room to have a dining area or unfold it to get a bed. Similar solutions are used in the workspace as well.
