Cupra reveals some details about its most affordable EV

Volkswagen and Cupra unveiled affordable EV concepts a while ago, and now, Cupra CEO Wayne Anthony Griffiths has revealed the approximate pricing.

Despite being technologically related, the two cars from Volkswagen and Cupra will be priced differently, the latter being around 25% more expensive. This discrepancy arises from both the market positioning of the two brands and the premium features added in the Spanish version.

Specifically, the all-electric Cupra hatchback will resemble the recently introduced UrbanRebel Concept (featured in our gallery). Griffiths promised that the production car would look nearly identical, minus the giant rear wing and front spoiler.

The show car could sprint 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.2 seconds, but the production car will be capped at 320 PS (316 hp / 235 kW) and 6.9 seconds of sprint time. It will also cover around 400 kilometers (250 miles) on a charge.

The minimum price is thus going to amount to €25,000 or so. The Volkswagen car, which will be based on the ID. Life Concept revealed in Munich, will be cheaper at around €20,000.
