The range-topping Cupra Formentor is already available for pre-ordering from €44,000, and more affordable versions will arrive later.
The crossover SUV uses a 2.0-liter turbo-four mill rated at 310 PS (306 hp / 228 kW), a six-speed DSG and an AWD system. It reaches 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.9 seconds.
A FWD variant will become available early next year priced from €31,000. It will offer a 1.5-liter engine with 150 PS (148 hp / 110 kW) in conjunction with a six-speed manual or seven-speed DSG gearbox. The standard sprint will take 8.9 seconds; on the plus side, the base spec will still ship with 18-inch wheels and an imitated limited-slip differential.
The Formentor eHybrid will follow later in the first quarter of 2021, powered by a 1.4-liter gasoline engine rated at 150 PS and 250 Nm (183 lb-ft). It will also make use of an electric motor with 115 PS (113 hp / 85 kW) built straight into a six-speed pre-selective transmission. Its cumulative power output is estimated at 245 PS (242 hp / 180 kW) and torque at 400 Nm (295 lb-ft). The WLTP-rated all-electric range is 50 kilometers (31 miles), and the drive stays on the front axle. Prices and acceleration times are pending.
Other versions are scheduled for announcement at later dates, Cupra reports.
