Cupra says it will bring a high-performance road-legal spec of its Leon hatchback and estate/wagon on February 20, 2020. For the first time on record, the range will switch to a new 245-hp (183-kW) PHEV powertrain based on the standard 1.4 TSI engine.
Simultaneously with the road-legal Leon, the manufacturer will be unveiling new versions of its two racecars, Competición and e-Racer, both coming with increased engine power.
The Leon Competición will source its momentum from a 2.0 TFSI mill rated at 340 hp (254 kW). It will also take advantage of 3D-printed parts such as the air intakes, steering wheel inserts, and side mirrors. For its part, the e-Racer (see video) will feature a quad-motor configuration with 680 PS (671 hp, or 500 kW) nominal capacity.
