The Cupra Tavascan EV Concept hit the spotlight as far back as 2019, but its final market version has only been revealed now. The electric ride has the same proportions and design as the concept, but landed with some new traits as well, such as original DRL patterns and new wheels sized up to 21 inches in diameter.
In its most basic form, the Tavascan comes equipped with a single e-motor driving the rear axle with 286 PS (282 hp / 210 kW) and 545 Nm (402 lb-ft). A higher spec called VZ offers dual motors and 340 PS (335 hp / 250 kW). Both utilize the same 77-kWh traction battery and max out at 550 km (342 miles) of driving range. The current top spec isn’t too fast from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) with 5.6 seconds.
nterior highlights include a compact-sized dashboard, a 15-inch multimedia system and touch-based HVAC controls. There are buttons on the steering wheel responsible for drive mode selection and paddle shifters below it for the transmission.
