Czinger Vehicles, an automotive startup from California, has unveiled a late pre-production version of its 21C hypercar on the racetrack. Only select media reps and interested buyers were invited.
The original concept car debuted in the spring of 2020 and received a major design overhaul in the summer of 2021, ending up with an aerodynamic body kit and a wider body. The drivetrain remained standard: two electric motors still drive the front axle, while a rear-mounted, eight-cylinder IC engine drives the rear axle. The system output amounts to 1,250 PS (1,233 hp / 919 kW) in tandem with a sequential transmission. The exotic racer zaps from standstill to 97 km/h (60 mph) in 1.9 seconds and allegedly maxes out at 452 km/h (280 mph).
The coupe is still technically considered a concept, and the production won’t begin until next year. Czinger Vehicles plans to put together 80 units priced from a cool $1,700,000.
