Czinger confirms developing a Lamborghini Urus killer

U.S. niche automaker only has one model in its current lineup – the 1,350-horsepower 21C – but it has its sights set on developing a powerful crossover SUV capable of showing the Lambo Urus the taillights. A grand tourer is also in the works.

The corresponding statements were made by CEO Kevin Czinger in his latest interview with Autocar. He added that the company planned to make the SUV fast and roomy at the same time. He said it would be styled in the same vein as the 21C (in the gallery and video below) and would get the same engine and transmission.

The Czinger 21C needs less than two seconds to sprint 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph), but the SUV will most likely be somewhat slower on the uptake due to its different body style and higher weight. The four-seat GT model that’s also in the works will get the same 1,350-hp powertrain.

Production plans exist for 1,000 units of each model. Prices will begin from U.S. $750,000.
