Despite numerous driver errors, a Czinger 21C has set an absolute speed record at the Goodwood Festival of Speed last weekend, surpassing the previous champion – the Rimac Nevera – by half a second.
The tandem two-seater completed the traditional Goodwood lap in 48.83 seconds and was recognized as that track’s fastest street-legal production car in history. Back in 2023, the Rimac Nevera crossed the finish line in 49.32 seconds.
In the footage from the racetrack, you can see driver Chris Ward repeatedly brushing against the hay bales delineating the track and making other mistakes. The car even lost one of its side mirrors by the end of the race.
