Dacia Bigster CUV shows up on patent images

Patent images of the Euro-spec Dacia Bigster have been added to the car patent database by the manufacturer. The final production car looks barely different from the concept that debuted in January – watch the video if you missed it.

The crossover SUV sports the same general outlines, widened arches, a front bumper with something resembling a skid plate, sculpted lower doors, and slim headlights with Y-shaped light patterns like on the new Sandero/Logan. The fenders have air intakes in them, and the body kit is made of plastic.

Compared to the show car, the production-ready Bigster sports a shorter rear overhang and a differently styled radiator grille that now lacks glowing parts.

Dacia will be producing the Bigster on a simplified version of the CMF-B unitized platform. It will be approximately 4.6 meters long and therefore comparable with the Kia Sportage and the Volkswagen Tiguan in terms of size, while costing much less.

Powertrain-wise, we expect a 1.2-liter turbocharged three-pot available in multiple boost variants, as well as a hybrid system or two based on the same engine.

It remains unknown when the Bigster will be revealed on official terms, but the company did mention the year 2025 when it unveiled the concept car.
