Dacia puts a premiere date on next-gen Duster

Dacia will unveil the third generation of its Duster SUV (sold in some regions as Renault Duster) in Portugal on November 29, 2023. According to Motors Actu, the vehicle will be available with three powertrains including its most powerful so far.

According to unofficial sources, the new design iteration will be based on the CMF-B platform. The base spec will allegedly get a 1.0-liter turbo engine with 120 PS (118 hp / 88 kW), while the middle-ground spec will get a hybrid system based on a 1.2-liter engine with u to 140 PS (138 hp / 103 kW).

While not official, we are told that the top spec will utilize a 1.3-liter turbo mill with 170 PS (168 hp / 125 kW) – not much, but more than any Duster had to this date.

Earlier rumors claimed that the diesel Duster was going to be replaced with a new hybrid version adding an electric motor to the rear axle. These haven’t been confirmed yet.

For the exterior, it is safe to expect that the third generation would look like the 2021 Bigster Concept: masculine shapes, angular arches and so on. Last summer brought about a facelift that left the Duster with new light signatures and radiator grille, so those are likely to stay the way they are for a while.

Dacia could launch sales of the new Duster in Europe in the first quarter of 2024, the sources say. Its Renault-badged counterpart is expected to reach Asia and South America a few months later.
