Carwow is perhaps best known for its straight-line acceleration videos, but this time around, Matt Watson decided to see how fast a Dacia Jogger would go with and without added weight.
The seven-seat MPV is driven by a 1.0-liter turbocharged engine producing 109 PS (108 hp / 80 kW), which links to a six-speed manual transmission. It weighs in at 1,205 kg (2,656 lbs) and needs 11.3 seconds to get from zero to 96.6 km/h (60 miles per hour). It also covers the quarter-mile strip in 18.5 seconds.
Adding four people to the equation resulted in the Jogger reaching highway speed in 13.12 seconds and completing the drag strip in nearly 19.6. Finally, with seven on board, it took 16.43 seconds to launch and 21.24 seconds to travel 402 meters.
A brake test that followed returned surprising results: apparently, the Jogger needs a brake path of 36 meters (118 feet) to stop completely from 60 miles per hour, regardless of whether it is empty of fully loaded.
