Dacia will begin selling the new Jogger Hybrid 140 next month starting at €24,600, but the first examples will not be delivered until the spring.
The part-electric compact van debuted this fall in Paris with 200 mm (7.8 inches) of ground clearance, a 1.6-liter engine good for 90 PS (89 hp / 66 kW) and an electric motor with 50 PS (49 hp / 37 kW) of its own. When combined, the output maxes out at 140 PS (138 hp / 103 kW).
The traction battery is only 1.2 kilowatt-hours large and not chargeable from external sources, so all-electric driving is not an option. On the other hand, the motor still helps reduce gas consumption. That, and the Jogger Hybrid always starts from standstill in all-electric mode.
Dacia said it had received 83,000 pre-orders since the unveiling.
