Gazoo Racing launches a comfier, sportier Daihatsu Copen

We are used to seeing Toyota’s in-house tuner, Gazoo Racing GRMN, release performance, off-road and aerodynamic upgrades for the brand’s cars. This time around, though, the team went for something new by putting comfort above sportiness.

The Daihatsu Copen is a Toyota-made, two-seat, open-top Kei car which is popular in Japan but not beyond. The new version, which is called GR Sport, comes to the showrooms with splendid new BBS wheels sporting a matte-grey finish, moderately lowered suspension, and tweaked chassis.

Exterior novelty boils down to a slightly different front bumper andlarger anti-fog lights. The cabin gets much more attention, with the Momo steering wheels, comfortable Recaro seats and red dashboard accents being the main highlights.

Powering the vehicle is the standard 0.66-liter, three-cylinder engine rated at a meager 63 hp (47 kW).
