DAMD, a Japanese tuning company famous for its cute Suzuki Jimny conversions, has tackled another domestic car – the Daihatsu Taft. It wound up with a tasteful retro body kit attractively priced just a bit over $2,000.
The Taft is a Kei car that’s available in 2WD and 4WD flavors in Japan. In its project, DAMD decided to dispense with all the “rugged” styling cues and instead go for an elegant 1980s-era look. The result is known as the Taft 80’s Side Kick.
Included in the styling kit are a new radiator grille, custom black wheels wrapped in Toyo Open Country tires, side stripe decals, and seat covers with a neat tartan pattern.
