A 43-year-old Datsun 280ZX is up for grabs in the USA for an asking price of $85,000, more than twice the $40,000 sticker of the brand-new Nissan Z. The seller argues that there is only one such car in the world.
Specifically, the Nissan was allegedly created for a 1980 promotional campaign called Black Gold. To that end, it received a unique livery combining a black base with golden stripes. The production car was never available in this color combo.
With barely more than 12,000 kilometers (7,500 miles) under its belt, the vehicle is in an excellent condition. Its first owner was the CEO of Freewheelin’ Films, the company in Colorado, USA, who received it as payment for the promo. Later on, someone outfitted this Datsun 280ZX with Gotti wheels and a Stebro exhaust system.
