The resurrected DeLorean Motor Company is seriously considering launching the production of its Alpha2 Concept, CEO Joost de Vries confided in an interview to Top Gear. Apparently, the car proved too popular among fans.
As it stands, the revived marque’s only production car is the Alpha5, a five-meter-long all-electric coupe you can have a look at in the attached video. At a certain point, DeLorean hired ItalDesign to try and imagine what kind of cars it would have produced if it had never gone insolvent. The Alpha2 Concept was among those purely imaginary vehicles – you will find it in the gallery here.
Now that the company has accumulated a great number of requests, though, it is seriously considering producing such a car in a limited batch, de Vries concluded.
A closer look at the Alpha2 reveals a sports car with old-school looks dating back to the late 1990s, with an intricate body kit and the brand’s signature gull-wing doors. What platform it could be running on is unknown.
