The successor of the coupe that Marty McFly and Dr. Brown used to travel to the past and the future has been long in the making, but the final reveal date is now known at last.
The current owner of the DMC brand has confirmed the intention to introduce the vehicle at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on August 21, 2022. There were no new photos or videos to accompany the announcement, however, we now know that the new DeLorean is going to be a coupe with a nostalgic, recognizable exterior, gull-wing doors, and an all-electric powertrain.
It seems likely that the vehicle set to debut at the Pebble Beach show will be just a concept, but even so, it is going to constitute a long-awaited breakthrough in the history of bringing back the DeLorean. Trademark issues forced the current rights holder to spend seven years acquiring all the rights necessary to start production.
