Resurrected carmaker DeLorean will be introducing its first electric car at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on August 18, 2022. In the meantime, we are given the first teaser pic to judge about its design.
The rendering shows the rear end. You can see that the roofline is now arched, although the iconic rear window blinds are still present. The wheel arches look massive, and the side windows seem to continue all the way to the rear. The taillights probably span the entire width of the bumper with the ends accentuated by triple stripes.
It remains unclear what status the modern reincarnation of the DeLorean will have when it debuts at the Pebble Beach show. It seems possible that the automaker will bring a production-ready car there and launch sales on the day of premiere, but other options should also be considered.
Nothing is being revealed about the powertrain, except that it is fully electric. The original DeLorean DMC-12 got 130 PS (128 hp / 96 kW) out of its 2.8-liter V6.
