The real DeLorean DMC-12 was a market failure, but everyone recognizes it for the icon it is thanks to the Back to the Future movie trilogy. YouTuber Awesome Woodcraft even went as far as to carve a scale model of it out of wood.
In his 17-minute long video posted this weekend, the talented woodworker showed the process of making every detail, including such movie-specific parts as the flux capacitor. The result is an imitation that looks every bit like the ride Marty and Doc Brown used to rip through the time-space continuum.
Make sure to watch the entire video if you have ever wondered how these intricate replicas manage to reproduce so many details. And as for the real car, a startup by the name of DeLorean Motor Company is currently planning to bring it back as an all-electric sports car. The premiere is set for next Monday, May 30, so stay tuned!
