A Canadian tuner built this authentic-looking DeLorean DMC-12 to be a perfect representation of the time-traveling machine from the movie Back to the Future. The 41-year-old sports car is on sale in the USA now with around 37,000 km (23,000 miles) under its belt and the bidding at U.S. $20,500 (but there are still a few days until the auction closes).
The exterior and the cabin both underwent a substantial redesign. The most immediately noticeable changes are at the tail-end, where jet muzzles reside alongside custom moldings and exposed wiring.
The interior greets with a combination of black and grey leather. Doc Brown’s dashboard is perfectly imitated with all the gauges and pointers, and there is even a ‘flux capacitor’ between the seats. Like its movie prototype, the vehicle can produce billowing smoke using an on-board generator.
As you can see in the video, the build is incredibly detailed and even comes with extra batteries to ensure the proper functioning of all the added parts. The engine stays stock, however: it is an aged 2.85-liter V6 mated to a three-speed auto gearbox and rated at just 130 PS (128 hp / 96 kW).
