After releasing a gorgeous all-electric Volvo P1800 (see video), UK-based electrifier Electrogenic has turned its attention to the DeLorean DMC-12. You can already order a copy.
The company replaces the gas powertrain with a single electric motor driving the rear axle with 215 PS (212 hp / 158 kW) and 310 Nm (229 lb-ft) of torque. A 43-kWh battery pack slots in where the gas tank used to be and delivers roughly 240 km (150 miles) on a charge, the company reckons. The truly impressive part is that the electric DeLorean weighs only 40 kilos (88 pounds) more than the original, so it should be a pleasure to drive.
Ordering a conversion like this one costs £65,000–85,000 in the UK, donor car not included.
