Legacy Classic Trucks, a company that specializes in the restoration of vintage trucks and pickups, has shown us their latest creation: a 1949 Dodge Power Wagon brought back to life. Now, that’s something worth a closer look!
Even in terms of its own era, the Power Wagon was considered quite a big workhorse. Nowadays, it looks straightaway formidable. We mean, look at these 40-inch tires! Naturally, the tuner didn’t even attempt to scale it down.
Instead, the guys have equipped it with a custom-built four-door cab, exaggerating its size even further. And as far as the suspension is concerned, don’t be mislead into thinking that the car received a major lift there. In fact, it still rides on perfectly regular Bilsteins (rear axle) and King coilovers (front axle). The total amount of added clearance is 50 mm (2 inches). Yeah, the rest of the height is what the car had straight off the assembly line!
The engine bay of the vintage vehicle houses a 5.9L Cummins turbo diesel engine tuned to produce up to 350 hp (261 kW) and 813 Nm (600 lb-ft) of torque. It works in tandem with a four-speed automatic transmission.
Legacy Classic Trucks is accepting orders for trucks like this one, but you’ll need to wait at least 2 years for your car to be complete. That, and you’ll also have to part with U.S. $200,000 or more (U.S. $318,000 in case of this particular Dodge).
