Dodge axing Hellcat is only a matter of time; will it happen in 2023?

After an official statement issued by the Dodge CEO Timothy Kuniskis, we all know that the days of the Dodge Hellcat lineup are numbered. Motor Authority is now quoting the executive again claiming the last Hellcat will roll off the assembly line in 2023.

Not that long ago, we learned that Dodge, too, intends to electrify its entire lineup. The first all-electric vehicle is scheduled for release in 2024. We should see the first hybrid sports car in 2022 and the first purely battery-powered concept a year after that.

AutoEvolution reported earlier that the North American automaker signed a contract with ZF according to which the latter was to supply it with a custom eight-speed automatic transmission with an electric motor already built in. While no further details were revealed, we expect the transmission to find use in the marque’s first hybrid car.
