Abandoned muscle car graveyard discovered in North Carolina

The YouTube channel Auto Archaeology has posted a video showing a giant cemetery of American muscle car classics. Per the description, there are hundreds of vehicles standing outdoors in half-decayed condition, some of them fairly rare and non-stock.

The land plot is located in North Carolina and is largely occupied by Dodge and Plymouth cars dating from the late 1960s to early 70s. Other passenger cars and even some buses can also be seen.

Enthusiasts who know their way around U.S.-made muscle cars will be able to recognize the specific models and modifications, including rare special editions and custom-built examples. Judging by the weather-worn state of the exteriors, it is unlikely that the interiors or the drivetrains are any better off. Most likely, the entire collection was destroyed by the elements years ago.

Reports are coming in that the owner of the collection departed not long ago. The other details remain unknown.
