Video: 99-year-old Dodge Brothers leaves barn for first time in decades

Classic Car Rescue discovered a Dodge Brothers automobile in a barn where it had stood abandoned since 1940, when Franklin Roosevelt was the president of the USA. The condition of the vehicle is surprisingly good considering its age.

As the recovery crew found out, all four wheels were still in good shape, so getting the vintage classic out of its hiding place was trivial. The body and the interior proved to be in decent condition, and the team is optimistic that a thorough cleaning will do wonders to them.

Starting the engine is a different story, however. The worn parts cannot just be replaced with OEM or aftermarket spares – not after decades of non-production. That said, most engine components used in modern Dodge cars are analogous to those used in classics, if not exactly identical, so finding suitable replacements shouldn’t be too hard.
