The American car manufacturer Dodge has put up a Challenger SRT Demon coupe and a Viper supercar for sale at the Barrett-Jackson auction. The two cars were the last to roll from the assembly lines before their production was terminated permanently. All profit will go to charity.
The formidable Dodge Challenger SRT Demon debuted only a year ago. Production plans existed for a modest-sized batch of just 3,300 vehicles driven by 6.2-liter V8 engines. With 850 horsepower (635 kW) under the hood, each such car can accelerate 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 2.2 seconds.
The last Dodge Viper left the works in August 2017. The production was stopped due to the introduction of new, harsher car safety regulations in the U.S.A. which the vehicle no longer complied with.
Prices aren’t publicly available, but stock Dodge Challenger SRT Demon cars can still be found in official dealerships priced at U.S. $84,995 and above. The Dodge Viper cost U.S. $95,800 when it came out.
