The famous car tuner shop Hennessey Performance has unveiled another ultra-powerful performance upgrade it has been working upon for quite some time. This time the honor went to Dodge Demon.
Dodge has built its hi-end Demon coupe as a dedicated drag racing vehicle. To that end, it received an eight-cylinder Hemi engine capable of 840 hp (626 kW) and over 1,000 Nm (740 lb·ft) of torque.
The Hennessey Performance team took that powertrain further to 1,056 hp (787 kW) and 1,300+ Nm (960+ lb·ft). As a result, the vehicle is now capable of bolting past 100 km/h (62 mph) in trifling 1.93 seconds.
It is reasonable to assume that the new Dodge Demon upgrade will enjoy high sales in the USA. Sport cars like this are invariably popular on the North American market, with around 65,000 Dodge Challenger, 68,000 Chevrolet Camaro and 82,000 Ford Mustang vehicles sold in the last year alone.
