Hennessey Performance boosts the Dodge Demon engine to 1,013 hp, promises 1,500

In spring earlier this year, car tuner Hennessey Performance purchased a copy Dodge Demon Widebody supercar, which is a part of a strictly limited series. Today, the company revealed the HPE1200 Performance Kit for the vehicle that brings its performance up to 1,200 hp (895 kW) – or 1,013 hp (755 kW), depending on where you measure it at.

The engineers had to approach their rather challenging project in several stages. They first developed what they called the HPE1000 Performance Kit, boosting the raw engine output of the Dodge Demon to 1,000 hp. The car then finished a quarter-mile drag race in 9,14s, accelerating to 245 km/h (152.6 mph) as it did so.

The HPE1200 kit increases the engine power of the Dodge Demon to 1,013 hp (755 kW) and 1,293 Nm (measured by a Dynojet). Hennessey Performance emphasizes that these figures have been measured on the wheel of the car, and the raw power output of the engine is at least 15 percent higher than that.

Hennessey Performance had earlier announced the so-called HPE1500 kit promising 1,500 hp (1,120 kW), but the release date remains unknown.
